The Palmer News Package is only one of a good many packages composed with the "I Love Chicago, Chicago my home" signature in it, which first appeared on WBBM Chicago in 1975. WHEC started using the Palmer News Package in 1987 (as a CBS affiliate) and continued to do so until 1991 (as an NBC affiliate). This hard hitting theme was composed in the early '90s and was used on WHEC from 1993 to February of 2002. "Dayna" by Edd Kalehoff >Listen to "Dayna" as heard on WHEC Composed in 1990 for WJBK Detroit, "Dayna" was used on WHEC for 8 years. From 1993 to 2000 "Dayna" could be heard on the morning and noon newscasts. The package continued to be used for "Newsmaker", a weekend current affairs program running bi-weekly on WHEC until 2002. "The One and Only" by Gari Communications, Inc. >Listen to "The One and Only" as heard on WHEC >Listen to Voice-Over Montage of "The One and Only" One of Frank Gari's most popular theme packages first appeared on WHEC in the summer of 2000. "The One and Only" was introduced to WHEC when Express News @ 5:30 launched. This theme replaced "Dayna" in the mornings and on News 10NBC @ Noon. "The One and Only" replaced "Straight Talk" on February 6, 2002 when the station launched a brand new look. In 2004, this theme retired as the main news theme. "Rochester in Focus" currently uses this theme Sunday mornings at 7:00AM. "The Tower" and "The Tower V.2" by 615 Music >Listen to "The Tower" as heard on WHEC >Listen to "Tower V.2" as heard on WHEC >Listen to Voice-Over Montage of "The Tower" and "Tower V.2" The original version of The Tower was composed in 2000 for WMAQ in Chicago. This package has been used on dozens of NBC affiliates across the country. WHEC started using the theme in August 2004 when the station launched a brand new look and logo. "Tower V.2" was composed in 2003 and is also used on WHEC. A third version of The Tower was composed in 2006, which WHEC began using in the summer of 2007. Production
